Factors Affecting the Teaching Practices of Students Faculty of Education Thai Language Teaching Program Yasothon Buddhist College
Abstract
This research aimed to study the issues and factors affecting the teaching practice of students from the Faculty of Education, Thai Language Teaching Program, Yasothon College of Theology, for the academic year 2023. The findings and recommendations from the research were intended to be integrated and applied in teaching and teaching practice. This is a mixed-methods research. The quantitative research involved a population and target group of 65 people, while the qualitative research involved in-depth interviews with 20 individuals. The research instruments included questionnaires and interview guides. The statistics used were percentages, means, and standard deviations. The research results revealed that the problems affecting teaching practice in schools included (1) lack of real-world experience, (2) a curriculum that does not align with the needs of the schools, (3) lack of support from academic advisors, (4) insufficient resources and facilities, (5) pressure from evaluations, (6) lack of motivation, and (7) lack of cooperation from schools. The factors influencing teaching practice included (1) internal factors within the students, (2) internal factors within the educational institutions, (3) external factors, and (4) other factors such as stress and pressure.
